Linda is both a senior, commercial academic and experienced businesswoman who continues to keep current with regular in situ consultancy and training for organisations. She is a leadership and change specialist with a particular focus on the impact of technology on corporate performance as well as intergenerational leadership. Linda’s practical training and consultancy work with organisations, as well as her research, is always predictive preparing individuals, teams and businesses for change ahead.
Linda’s business career was in the fast-moving field of recruitment where latterly she ran a large, national territory of branches from Edinburgh to London (including nine new start-ups) and was part of the Senior Leadership Team providing strategic direction and alignment for a £50m section of the business. Linda then built an academic career to fit around being a single mother gaining a commercial MBA and a PhD in Leadership and mainly ran Executive MBAs and other business postgraduate qualifications. She designed university MBAs and management courses to appeal to employers and was awarded for outstanding achievement for bringing essential commercial elements to academic provision and procedures. Linda also secured a number of large corporate training contracts - accredited and non-accredited – including a ‘paperless’ MBA and has extensive experience of on-site, blended and distance learning executive training and development for a wide range of global corporate clients. Throughout her academic career, she has also provided business consultancy for a range of organisations covering strategic planning, marketing strategies, sales focus, customer service, HR strategy alignment, equality issues, leadership coaching and change planning. She believes it is important to keep current with such work. Linda is known for her practical, no-nonsense approach and saying it like it is.
